  4. Annual General meetings will be being arranged for November so anyone who thinks rules need to be changed or they would like to see other changes can you start to think about either Notices of Motion or Recommendations which you would like to put forward rather than people leaving it to the last minute or just not bothering.

Thanks Fiona

13th July 2025 – message from the secretary

Grasmere Sports – This year Grasmere Sports have moved onto an all electronic ticketing platform so there will no longer be paper tickets unless visitors want to print them off at home. Grasmere Sports are also transitioning towards full implementation of the new Martyn’s Law concerning venue security so they will not be posting wristbands out ahead of time.

Grasmere Sports are still offering discounted tickets for HRA members. In order to access these tickets you need to confirm with myself by the 10th August I will then let the Sports people know how many Tickets will be required and then you will be able to log on to the Try Booking Portal and access your tickets using a discount code which will be provided by myself. The Try Booking Portal link is: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/80249

Following the Associations change of name to ‘The Hound Racing Association’ the revised Articles and Rules now appear on this Website and have been changed as follows;

The words ‘Trail’ and ‘Trailing’ when used in the context of hounds running against each other in competition, have been changed to ‘Race’ and ‘Racing’ respectively.

The words ‘Trail’ and ‘Trailers’ when used in the context of the scent laid on the ground, and those laying the scent, have been changed to ‘Drag’ and ‘Drag Layers’ respectively.

The word ‘Trail’ when used in the context of reaching the minimum time limit for a race has been changed to ‘Time’.

Thanks Edward

Over the last few months the Association has been working with Millcroft Vets to establish a reduction in Vet fees for any member of the HRA who chooses to use Millcroft Vets. Please see details on the advert below. Anyone wishing to use this service will need to have a membership card which they will need to present to the Vets when they visit. Membership Cards can be obtained from myself.
