Report. There isn’t a man alive that hasn’t made a mistake but there are a few that haven’t admitted to making one.

The finishing end trailer for the senior trail admitted that he had got wrong a couple of times , apparently let down by a lifeless sat nav, nevertheless he reported that he had missed his way . C’est la vie, get over it , live to fight another day.

It is of little matter to most of the hounds that the trail missed the trod towards the road, we’ve been this way before , we’re going again., therefore the status quo remained and Nimrod notched another win for the invincible Glenridding kennel.and the senior maidens , lf the trail went around in a circle “Knob ‘ed  would go and if Bedazzled had done a handstand ——– so another second for Copperfield, . Hope the ” old fella ” is  behind the tree on the sports finish – just watch him go !

The junior trail was won in fine style by Oracle and Sojourner the pup maidens , expect this hound to be on the move shortly and the first three in the all-in well expect all of them to be winning within  the next week.

First a report.

As Chair of the HTA , I take it upon myself to try to help and sort out situations as they occur,

last night , due to no fault of  his own the puppy trail was laid  differently to the seniors consequently the barrier , tape and the  judging position should have been  altered.

This was brought to the attention of the area committee by myself, we wont go into the reply !. But the outcome was that nothing was changed,- the question now?  was the placing of hounds in the last two races correct, ? it might well be correct but the fact that both judge and  catchers being badly placed , asks the Question.. Was It Correct and why wasn’t action taken.?

Report : The Huntsman’s /Jenny bandwagon rolls on and on , Nimrod spearheading the senior battle with Major, although having a hurry on look at  Major on the finish, these two had poached a lead before showing on the long uphill climb and finishing in third – ladybird, who has cost his owner a bob or two lately in the maiden class ( dead rag Jimmy ?)., Somebody remarked she’s driving her owner Batty !.

We move on to the pups and poppy ( jenny’s oracle ) obliged for her followers with a victory over the lightly raced Overwater Sully and  Carlisle based Denton Bilbao took the restricted event and therefore completed his allowance. In the veterans explore finished like a\ two year old beating the points favourite  Thorn Fire.

Report. Geoff and Barbara Jones ‘s Starlight has been steadily improving over the past few weeks and on Saturday she put her best foot forward and won easily from Aspire and Foxparke So Be It. It was a pleasure to see the former Chair of the Ulverston area back in the winner’s enclosure up to now the only first has been , first on the trail field beating  the promoter, gateman and entry taker.  Just a point   Starlight was first in the entry book followed by Aspire, Miterdale Prim and Foxparke .

Report. Only 13  H T A  Hounds perhaps , apart from the cough and an unexplained virus, feet weren’t in good order.

That doesn’t lessen the performance of the day and perhaps the season when the Glenridding kennel of Denise Bland finished 1 2 3 and she also entered them in that order.

Huntsman’s Major was “all out” on the uphill finish but also struggling was “Nimrod ” who earlier had surrendered a big lead, he finished second whilst his Novice understudy was third.

The Junior trail and once again it was the Huntsman, Jenny  kennel, this time with Jenny’s Oracle who , after a prolonged battle with acorn , got the better in the last mile , only to see acorn finishing very fast over the last few meters with, back in third  an other Huntsmans ( Orchid ).

Beckham AKA Golden Balls popped up in the maidens and Best mate beats his sister in the all-in. The Premier trails are at Redmain, Is it Crazy to think the chairman has Golden balls or is Acorn more apt.
