Patrick & Jane live in Cockermouth and currently have four hounds in their kennel.
1) How did you get interested in the sport of Hound Trailing?
Our families, particularly our Fathers were involved in the sport and it stemmed from there.
2) How long have you been involved in the sport of Hound Trailing?
All of our lives.
3) Which have been the best hounds you have trained?
Sugar Moss, Meadow Lark, Jackpot, Mabel, Silver Birch and Ned Pepper.
4) Which is the best hound you have seen run and why do you think so?
Shannon – He had speed and driving ability. he used to win by a distance on a regular basis.
5) What is your favourite venue and why?
Cold Fell Gate. Open fast running and you can see a lot of the trail. Helton also fits the bill.
6) Which are your most memorable victories?
Winning the Bitch Produce at Shap with Sugar Moss and Silver Birch beating Hartsop Magic in the old dogs at Ambleside Sports.
7) Which current day hound would you like to have in your kennel and why?
Westgate Ruby – 100% trier, always consistent.
8) Who is your favourite hound trailing character, past or present and why?
Jim Batty – All the tales he tells, a big personality.
