Firstly: I’ve trained, owned  and re-homed ( in days of old we did it differently) hounds, a member of the area committee for 50 years, promoted trails, the youngest trails manager of a major HTA trail. A Bookmaker ,all in and without  -money. . Introduced many innovations including the ‘camera, first seven trail meeting, the first £1000 trails, scouted  , judged if there’s out else then I ‘ve probably done that. It goes without saying, that I am not everybody’s ‘cup of tea’ and if there is somebody out there that wants the job then the opportunity will arise at the December meeting.

Applicants must be -broad shouldered- fair- unbiased- humourless- handle aggression with aplomb -able to communicate- be oblivious and take with’a pinch of salt’ name calling, swearing and the odd reference to your parentage, Other than that it is a doddle and your out six days a week, can’t be bad ! Oh’ by the way if applying by letter -SIGN IT.

Saturday all roads lead to Uldale , good luck to everybody.

This week -and a remark after Levitate had won Cold Fell in a monsoon.’He doesn’t like rain’  said ‘Hoggy’ with a grin.

Look of the week – Owners face when ‘tongue in cheek’ he was asked to report any communication with the anti- hunt brigade after Cold Fell incident.

Carolines navigational skills had improved until – wed night – Cold Fell via Salter.

How many runners Russ -’14’ !  so after 11 had crossed the road and information said one more too finish- what happened to the other two?

Nice to see Lisa Whitfield in the winners enclosure ‘got told by Susan ‘nowt to do with me I’m here to keep her company while she waits for her pups to finish!

Bust my camera on Saturday last picture included David Studholme- say no more!

Scouting at Ings–Do you mind waiting a couple of minutes whist the hounds cross’ polite request to van driver, reply ‘no ,move your car, now!

Car was moved -van and trailer went by and four hounds  jumped into the road ! and then a car pulled behind blocking the gateway -it’s a good job there were four clear otherwise one jump and they would have been in a convertible.

PS : directions for  Uldale on Saturday — see Arthur Temple!
