Baz’s weakly blog

I praised Caroline’s navigational and driving skill’s but oh to soon.

Monday evening, after passing two signs indicating the A66 closed at Bassenthwaite ,  drove up to the barrier and uttered the words  ” the bloody road’s shut ” Now it didn’t take a lot to realise that a large sign saying Road Closed plus the two diversional signs previous meant  ” No you can’t go this way” . Turn Left , which she did,on the wrong side of the blue arrow ,”so what “!!

It rained  a laal bit on Saturday , the roads were flooded in a matter of minutes and anybody caught outside was soon wet through – and who had to run from one car to another ‘ Laal Pat’and when she reached the back door of the car,. it was locked and in the few seconds she was delayed she was soaked , T – shirt and competition  come to mind.

A few bob was invested on Kinniside Meg in the pup trail at Bridekirk. “What’s the difference between Meg, Molly, and Mell , I asked , the answer ” Meg ” is the one with the money on it .

Is it mine or is it yours – the question asked between Denis and Emily when litter sisters – Overwater Gemini and Hawkswood were running at Kendal and one of them trotted over the line and stood in front of the two owners who hadn’t a clue who’s hound it was.

The winner – Overwater Wood.!!!

Puzzled looks – the numerous people on the leaps road waiting for the senior hounds at Croasdale to cross- with no communication it was a  while before the “penny dropped” perhaps they aren’t coming .

Question? Why was a certain lady leaving the field early on Monday – reason – call of nature. But ! she fell over and lost her specs . No Names ,you’re secret’s safe – JULIE!

Our former Chairman , forever sprightly ,was called on to be a catcher at Kendal, he caught first, second  third fourth fifth and sixth and he got them right.
