COMMITTEE MEETING SUN JULY 9TH

The committee met on Sunday

Minutes were read.

August Premier trails were awarded to Tallentire Hill nr Tallentire Cockermouth on Saturday Aug 12th at 1.30.

There will be H M P PM OR and V .

The Cockermouth and Workington area Committee will be the host.

The HTA’s long standing secretary Margaret will be standing down at the end of the current season. Margaret has been secretary since 1990 , the Committee wish her well in retirement and although retired she will be on call and give assistance to our new secretary. That said -We are now on the lookout for somebody to fill Margaret’s shoes , applicants please make enquiries to the Chair and don’t all rush at once!

The treasurer gave an account of the finances and put forward a suggestion about the printing of the annual.

It was also suggested that in future for the major trails a professional PA system should be in place.

After a complaint about the structure of the fixtures  – there followed a long discussion on the future of hound trailing in its present format and it was decided to look into the structure of the seven areas with regard to reducing the number. The Committee would like members to come forward with reasonable ideas as to which road to take to try an ensure our sport survives .

Joanne Satterthwaite thanked all who supported her race night and £1473 was raised of which the Junior club and the HTA will benefit.

Also it was noted that the HTA is in receipt of £1000 from the late Hamish Rose and it’s destination will be decided on at the next meeting. Also a trophy in memory of George Harrop to  the value of £500 will also be decided .
