Report: A fine sunny day for Eskdale Show (in the next field) .Only one let down the ice cream van ran out of –yes! Ice Cream!

The talking point was , that after catching Huntsmans in her last two wins Les Reid was sacked in favour of somebody much better looking, but He had the last laugh as he had the winner of  the senior maidens with ‘Turbo’.

After that diversion – The senior trail and of the nine runners five came from the Patterdale  kennel of Bland and Barrow+ a Little or two. So it came as no surprise to see them filling the first two positions with Huntsman’s Jewel and Jenny’s Choice- the latter came in front but ‘Jewel’ edged him out to win by a head.

In the senior maidens and unfortunately High Stile was disqualified for interference with Come Home Alfie and this provided Foxparke Turbo with a winning opportunity. This was one of the eleven ‘Foxparke’ kennel runners.

The junior trail, and last week Daisy and Delight made a ‘mess’ of the last road crossing but not yesterday – Daisy Dream winning comfortably from the favourite Marlou with Jenny’s Delight third, these were well clear of the rest.

The restricted trail and this was a crowd pleasing finish involving four hounds- Great Gable came in front with Blueboy, Bedazzled and Rooster close behind. Both Bedazzled and Rooster finished fast to overhaul Blueboy but couldn’t quite make the leader, who is owned and trained by Liz Fisher and Tom Postlethwaite .

In the Veterans -normal service resumed when Da Look took the ‘flag’ with a five length win over much travelled Tiagrees, Cinnabar back in third. The Foxparke kennel was running low ‘only three’ !
