Report. Goosewell  an anagram of the road sign Go Weel Slow which the farmer adapted some years ago .,according to Len Birkett. For the seniors ,a laal bit of off roading to watch them in action but first at the second road crossing it was Jenny’s Choice  that was blazing the trail. Then onto the fell road midway between ST Johns and the A 591.Here Jenny’s Rascal was driving but there wasn’t a lot between the first eight or so  As you can see from the result that Huntsman’s Hope is back on the Championship trail, all be it a little late, but this time last season he was thirteen wins adrift of the leader. The Juniors and this developed into a three hound affair the Patterdale duo and Eric’s inform Marlou ( one that isn’t red) fighting out the finish up the last climb, made more difficult  by the long grass,, as it was we couldn’t see the hounds and vice – versa. Jenny’s Delight popped out to win by five lengths, Kraka a couple of lengths in front of Marlou with the remaining hounds well spread. A similar story in the maidens with three hounds finishing clear, here it was farmer Tom’s Mickledore who just held off Full House with Miterdale farmer Anthony’s, force in third. Only seven old timers faced the starter in the veterans and a facile victory for Tagget over Thorn Girl. All roads lead to Kirkland on Saturday for the festival of trailing. This is a new venue. I hope you support it and wish the Committee every success. Also on the agenda Maurice Tunstall’s  64 years in trailing.
