Report. Without a break in the weather it is inevitable that there are going to be small fields and this was evident in the seniors  when only five faced the starter.

Jenny’ s Delight had a half a minute lead at halfway and the two Borrowdale hounds were in a similar position behind the second hound but it was all change on the downward slope to the uphill finish when four hounds were in with a chance.

Jenny’s Delight negotiated the beck crossing better than her rivals and won by 100 yards from Menorah.

The pups found it difficult and a number returned to the start, that left the way clear for Huntsman’s Nimbus , who’s only danger was the clock. She had 34 seconds to spare and a lot more in front of kennelmate Huntsman’s Noel.

The veterans next, correction maidens, won by a veteran over another one second and fourth and fifth. Miterdale Proper despite going behind the judge held on to beat the ageless Tagget ( Senior International winner in 2011) with a young Eden Rocco in third and 2013 puppy champion Jenny’s Choice in fourth.

And in the restricted trail , the fastest of the three short trails was the red ‘un Bewitched just in front of Overwater Jack and another veteran Night Vision.
