Report. A misty night on Helton Fell for five trails on a Monday Night.

Highlight of the evening ( apart from a late showing by ‘Jonesy’) was the re-appearance of Marli – Misha- Little Messy and the first appearance of Cotto and not forgetting a television interview to be aired later, not on BBC or ITV but ,wait for it , You Tube.

The trails and Endure back from injury staked his claim for the championship with a length win over Galemire Grace and Marli. I have been asked to point out that the first three are all related and who bred them? the person who told me to point it out !!!

The mist descended for the pup trail and emerging were five hounds well clear, victory going to  Misha , her first open win , beating Eclipse and the improving Sweet Harmony. It might be pointed out that the puppy trailer was using the GPS for guidance in the mist , it showed him the way but didn’t stop him falling A*** over T**, some you win some you lose!

We have mentioned those who have been trailing for years with a limited amount of success and ‘Hutton Hazel’ comes into that category, so it was nice to see her get a reward for patience when Hutton Molly won the non winners.

In the Maidens one half of Ant and Dec, not on a Saturday but Monday, namely Mr Ant crossed the last road with a comfortable lead and won readily from Rickman ( with a tilt of his trilby- good afternoon).

The All In saw Jazz Singer on the come back trail , the reappearance of Overwater Bessy and also Little Messy, who set off like a ‘scalded cat’ and was never headed in the fastest time of the evening.

Just a passing note ,the trail sign at the bottom of the hill was put there by me but that didn’t stop the trail manager from half inching it.

And a welcome to the Lake District and their new home Steve and Christina Watts from Oldham. Another trailer , got room for a kennel , keen as mustard and willing to learn,(  ?)
