On a fine night you can’t find another trail field that matches Kirkstone and its surrounding fells and people were still turning onto the field long after most had gone home.

Now you might look at the times of the two short trails and think ” Now that’s quick”

but the promoter shortened the trails because of the dry weather. The senior trail had to go the full distance and a ” Jenny ” 1/2 with Marlou in third.

The pups and a convincing win for Cuckoo Lane by 50 yards from table leader Huntsman’s Nimrod, his seventh win equal with his brother and Best Mate.

To conclude the evening Lady Bethan held of the challenge of ” Gracie” and a three – nil victory for the punters, by the way the last trail was just over the  minimum time, just as predicted by anon.
