Report;  The sun might be shining , Easter is upon us, but the night up Low Place can be summed up by one sentence, ” The hair that you clipped off the hound last night can you stick it back on”, Yes! it was rather cold.

Seventeen seniors faced the starter, who was in the correct position, contrary to Bower House report which erroneously stated that she was not in position, if you going to get it wrong do it in style!!!.

On the long downhill finish, the Rosthwaite hound , Stanley and Carol Jackson’s Bewitched came from third to take up a winning lead which was dramatically reduced in the final strides by the local Miterdale Copper and kennelmate Miterdale Rusty, Washington was fourth , laughingly accused of not been called in by none other than Jim Bob, who , I might add, once shouted a hound home until he was blue in the face only to find out it wasn’t it!

The kennel cough is still rife, hence some small fields, only seven pups and an easy victory for Miterdale  Shadow , in second and showing promise the Langdale hound Hawkswood.

The third race and for some “the dreaded restricted” If you have a maiden and you win a restricted you no longer have a maiden! Ask Russell Dawson Who stayed at home only to take a call saying Paloma Faith finished well clear, won easily, three maidens gone!

Wendy was supposed to run in the seniors but decided against it.

If you want an input Russell, thou best turn up!

And to cap it all in second place was a second year veteran and in third Yorkshire Lad, who was a non- winner until October and by the way Low Place is one of the longest journeys for yours truly so it’s a long way from Settle for Mick and his pick-up.
